Based on the faults I see coming through my workshop, here are some suggestions to minimise repair bills.
- Open/close the lid holding the centre of the display or with a hand on each corner.
- Yanking the power cable by tripping over it overstrains the power socket.
- Use mains power whenever possible.
- Keep food and drinks more than a metre away from the keyboard.
- Shut down fully each day rather than closing the lid and putting it to sleep.
- Make sure the outlet air vent is unobstructed.
- Make sure the inlet air vent can not suck up carpet dust or linen lint.
- Don't press the power on/off button too hard.
- Follow Eugene's housekeeping schedule periodically.
