I am sometimes asked to gain access to a password protected document or computer. Often this is possible but time consuming and therefore potentially costly. To avoid the problem why not write the password for a secret entry point on paper and lock it in your safe.
I am not able to find out an existing password, but can often clear it to gain access. Note though, that you WILL loose access to
* Web page credentials.
* File share credentials.
* EFS-encrypted files.
* Certificates with private keys (SIGNED/ENCRYPTed e-mail).
Avoid all this pain and expense by creating a password reset disk as described at
