Having originally qualified for the East Sussex BWC scheme in December 2006, the Kent award was conferred this year. It is designed to give clients confidence that the trader has been (exhaustively) inspected by the Trading Standards Department and confirmed to:
- Hold the acreditations and memberships claimed
- Have passed the qualifications and sucessfully completed the ongoing training claimed
- Hold current public liability and professional indemnity insurance
- Have Terms of Business that are fair to the client
- Have passed a criminal records bureau check
- Have a suitable complaint procedure in place
- Have 5 references of recent clients chosen by Trading Standards vouch for good workmanship
- Have traiding practices that meet or exceed the required standard
- Be entitled to use of all logos displayed on websites and documentation
